Beads - Bone

This necklace was purchased in 1967, measuring 18.5 cm from end to end. Each individual bead measures 2.5 cm long and is .5 cm in diameter. This necklace is made out of old-style bone tubular beads. The Potawatomi people often made these types of necklaces to be worn in abundance most of the time, especially during special ceremonial occasions. Necklaces were worn by both sexes and it is unsure whether this particular necklace belonged to a man or a woman.
